Throwing pots at Stepney Green City Farm

As a daughter of a potter, Jess Joss grew up with clay in her blood. She later went on to study at Camberwell Art College, graduating with a BA in Ceramics. Since then she has developed her own unique style of classic ceramics with a contemporary edge, creating bespoke tableware for prestigious cafes and restaurants around London.

When she’s not moulding her own masterpieces, Jess leads pottery classes for every level of experience at Stepney City Farm: London’s East End working farm, Rural Arts Centre and registered charity. During these dynamic workshops, she teaches a variety of classic techniques whilst encouraging each individual’s own creative vision.

A class with Jess is a wonderfully therapeutic activity, as a chance to step away from the screen to watch the turntable spin, and teach your keyboard-stiff fingers a new skill.
You can see photos from my pottery class with Jess on my Instagram. I plan on signing up to another soon!
